The Largest National Guard Deployment Since World War II
In April 2009, the Colorado National Guard mobilized its largest contingent since World War II. When they deployed to Iraq, each of these servicemen and women carried with them information about how the Red Cross can help them in case of emergency. 
 

The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—down the street, across the country and around the world. The Red Cross provides lifesaving services and critical support for people in your community before, during and after an emergency or disaster. In addition, the Red Cross helps individuals, groups and organizations prepare for emergencies, train to respond to disasters and to provide health and safety services to others.

On average, Red Cross Colorado Chapters respond to a disaster every 21 hours.

But the Red Cross also does much more. The Red Cross maintains a statewide network of chapters to provide programs and services to Coloradoans— so that no one is ever alone in their time of greatest need. The American Red Cross Colorado Chapters provide the following services throughout the state:
